Create an Involved Community

This events guide is designed to help members of the Moreno Valley College community in planning, preparing, and running events and programs at the College from start to finish. We've collected a list of commonly used resources and direct links to the platforms you need to reserve rooms, request services, and who to contact for help.

Event Planning Process

  • 1

    Solidify Event Details

Know what your event is, have a title, an audience, an anticipated participant amount, and general understanding of date, time and where and what you need to host it.
  • 2

    Reserve Physical Spaces

Reserve the rooms and physical equipment needed for your event. You'll need to understand event capacity and the equipment you need to make your event successful (a classroom may not have enough capacity, or a gathering space may not have the furniture needed).
    Subject to Approval
Reservations are subject to approval by MVC Facilities and have the potential to be moved to accommodate instruction.
  • 3

    Request Facility Setup

Submit a request for facility setup through ServiceDesk. This includes tables, chairs, stages, or other furniture moving, clean-up, and more.
  • 4

    Request Catering

Work with Food Services to ensure your event is catered. Food Services also reserves right of first refusal to any events where catering is expected.
    Keep in Mind
Custom menus are available, and may help your budget go further.
  • 5

    Request Technology Support

Many events require some form of technology support, from a laptop cart for workshops to speakers for an event in the plaza.
  • 6

    Request Marketing Support

To get the word out about your event, you may want to leverage social media, the website, campus digital signage, request support with flyer creation, and other print and digital design support.
  • 7

    Request Supplemental Services and Information

From parking (through RCCD) to ASL interpreters (through DSS) to security (through RCCD Police) to photography (through RCCD Creative Services), even more services exist that can help make your event more accessible, memorable, and safe. Contacts for these additional services are listed on this page.
  • 8

    Post-Event

Work with Facilities and Technology Support Services to ensure any borrowed equipment is returned and facilities are left in good working order.
