How do I join Puente?

The Puente Program is open to all students. As an academic and community leadership program designed to help students transfer to four-year colleges and universities, recruitment is continuous until Puente classes are full. However, seats in each cohort are limited, and interest is first-come, first-served. Send in your application as soon as possible to increase your chances of acceptance in the upcoming cohort.

Am I Eligible?

If the following are true for you, you are eligible to apply to Puente! First-time or returning student eligibility requirements are:

  1. Eligibility for English 1A for Fall Semester, English 1B Spring Semester
  2. Eligibility for Guidance 47 or 46
  3. Be motivated to transfer and complete educational goal

Steps to Join

    Apply as a student

    Apply to Moreno Valley College as a student and activate your student email so you can access the Puente Intake Form.

    Complete the intake form

    Review and complete a Puente Program Intake form online.

    Attend an information session

    Attend a Puente counseling and information session. Information sessions are provided in three formats: virtually, in-person during outreach events, or as a one-on-one with a Puente coordinator.

    Complete final steps

    After completing all of the requirements above, a Puente counselor or a student ambassador will reach out to you to walk you through the final steps for joining Puente. If you have questions at any point, you may reach out to the program coordinators.
