We help document your academic journey

During admission to MVC and to special academic programs, submitted transcripts and educational achievements go through an evaluation process that interprets whether the credit a student attained meets the academic standards of the Riverside Community College District. The Evaluations team will help you figure out if your transfer courses qualify at MVC, if you're ready for graduation, if your experience qualifies you for credit for prior learning, and more.

Graduation

Are you ready to graduate? The Evaluations team reviews all graduation applications to ensure students meet the requirements, or are within the timeline for completion. Make sure to meet with a counselor first to review whether you're prepared to graduate or transfer, then apply to graduate in that academic year. Once evaluated, MVC automatically awards all degrees or certificates that a student qualifies for, even for undeclared programs of study. Applying to graduate is required to walk in the annual Commencement Ceremony.

Student Records

From transcripts to the name on your degree, the Evaluations team can help keep your academic record accurate.

Transcripts are a core part of your academic record. They are official, comprehensive documents that serve to illustrate your academic performance and achievements, including the classes you took, the grades you earned, any honors, degree awards, and extracurriculars.

Evaluations plays a huge part in the process of moving transcripts from one institution to another. If you're a transfer student, then your transcripts are reviewed by MVC evaluators.

About Transcripts

MVC students are able to maintain their student records themselves. However, when a change of name, address, or gender identity is required, you have to file the right paperwork. MVC has made it easy: simply download the correct form and turn it into the office listed. We'll take it from there.

Keep in mind that the name and address on record will be the name on your degree or ceritificate, and where they are mailed. Ensure they are up to date at all times!

Credit for Prior Learning

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is college credit awarded for validated college-level skills and knowledge gained outside of a college classroom. Students who satisfactorily pass an authorized assessment may receive CPL for eligible courses. Whether you're a military Veteran or have qualifying professional credentials or experience, successfully completing the Credit for Prior Learning process results in college credit toward your degree or certificate.

Dental Hygiene Course Articulation

The Dental Hygiene program has several course prerequisites that must be fulfilled prior to applying. If you are a transfer student, you may bring your coursework with you—but you'll want to first see if what you learned is equivalent. Evaluations has done the work of preparing a comprehensive list of courses from all California Community Colleges that match up with the courses offered in the Riverside Community College District. If the classes from your transfer school are on the list, then it'll satisfy the prerequisite!
