Strategic thinking and focused competition took center stage Nov. 13–14 as the iMake Innovation Center hosted its first two-day chess tournament, drawing students from across campus for a multi-round event centered on skill development and peer connection.

A new chapter in emergency medical training began this fall as the inaugural EMS 95 class concluded at Moreno Valley College’s Ben Clark Training Center, establishing the first local pathway for Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) training in Riverside County.

Moreno Valley College student Lauryn Chin has been selected by California Volunteers to serve as a College Corps Fellow Ambassador, representing both the college and the state in a program that provides students with hands-on service opportunities across California.

The Halloween Costume Giveaway, in a collaboration between CalWORKs and Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS), supported student parents and their families with more than 150 donated costumes distributed to 85 children.

Aliyah Nataly Alatorre, a student aide at Moreno Valley College, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Growing Inland Achievement (GIA) in partnership with the Mexican Consulate and IME Becas.

Veterans and their families gathered Sept. 6 at College Park Fields for the inaugural Veterans Upward Bound Family Day, an event celebrating service and connecting participants with benefits and resources for Veterans.

This past summer, 56 RCCD students traveled to Tokyo, Japan, for a six-week, faculty-led study abroad program that combined classroom learning with cultural immersion and professional experience. Students explored Tokyo and nearby regions, including Kyoto, Osaka, Hakone, and Mt. Fuji.

Moreno Valley College has been recognized as the top-ranked community college in the Inland Empire and 12th statewide for delivering one of the fastest returns on investment for students. Graduates typically earn back their education costs in just under two and a half months.
