Creating a More Accessible College Park
The Athletic Field and Accessible Parking Lot Improvement Project will modernize College Park and improve accessibility, safety, athletic facilities, parking, and event support at Moreno Valley College.
About the Project
The project addresses existing conditions at College Park that do not meet current programmatic, accessibility, and safety standards. Existing overflow parking is also insufficient to support campus and athletic activities.
Improvements will create a more functional athletic and event environment while addressing accessibility and infrastructure needs throughout the site. The project will include improvements to the athletic field, expanded parking, new support facilities, and upgrades to lighting and other site features.
The project is funded through Measure CC and represents a $26.6 million investment in athletic, accessibility, parking, and event infrastructure at Moreno Valley College. The project was made possible in part by the availability of Measure CC resources following MVC's receipt of approximately $25 million in State funding for the STEM project.
Project Details
Athletic Facilities
The improved athletic field will provide a modern environment for student-athletes and support competitive athletic events. New facilities will be designed to better meet current programmatic requirements and provide improved conditions for athletes and visitors.
Accessibility Improvements
ADA improvements will provide more accessible routes and facilities throughout the project area. The project will address existing accessibility deficiencies and improve access between parking, athletic facilities, and other areas of College Park.
Locker Rooms and Restrooms
New locker rooms and restroom facilities will provide modern amenities for student-athletes, teams, event participants, and visitors.
Parking and Event Support
Expanded parking capacity will address existing limitations while supporting athletic competitions and other campus events. New seating for approximately 194 spectators and improved lighting will further enhance the site's ability to accommodate competitive events and community activities.
