Moreno Valley College has launched its first-ever Women's Flag Football team, marking a significant milestone in the college's athletic offerings. Women's Flag Football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, making it the perfect time for MVC to introduce this exciting new program.

Moreno Valley College hosted its sixth annual National TRIO Day, celebrating opportunity, empowerment, and access to higher education. The event, which drew hundreds of students, families, and community partners, highlighted MVC’s commitment to ensuring underserved students.

Several CalWORKs students from Moreno Valley College were honored at the Soroptimist International of Moreno Valley’s Live Your Dream Awards breakfast, which recognizes the achievements of women working to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.

Moreno Valley College MESA Scholar Luciano Ponce has been selected for a highly competitive Student Independent Research Intern position at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Ponce was also honored with the MMVC President’s Award at the 17th Annual RCCD Student Research Conference.

Students, along with classified professionals, attended the College Expo sponsored by Growing Inland Achievement and the National College Resources Foundation to connect with representatives from more than 30 colleges and explore academic programs, transfer pathways, and scholarship opportunities.

MVC students embraced civic engagement for the 2024 election season, leading voter education efforts on local ballot measures like Measure CC by going door-to-door across Moreno Valley and hosting on-campus events to spread the word about voting to peers and community members alike.
