Leverage the MVC Library's Catalog of Books and Media
Books, magazines, textbooks, DVDs and more are available for your use. Each item has different restrictions and check-out periods.
Circulating textbooks can be checked out for a limited amount of time for use outside of the library.
- Check-out Period: 7 days or Semester
- Maximum of 1 circulation textbook can be checked out at a time
- Holds are allowed
Hourly reserves are course materials that can be checked out for 2 hours for use in the library.
- Check-out Period: 2 hours
- These items cannot leave the library
- Maximum of 1 hourly reserve checked out at a time
- Holds are not allowed
Main stack books include most of the MVC Library'open book collection, such as novels, nonfiction books, and so on. These books can be checked out for multiple days at a time.
- Check-out Period: 21 days
- Renewals are allowed
- Holds are allowed
Reference books are used to conduct research.
- These items cannot leave the library
- These items cannot be checked out
The MVC Library has magazines available to students. Magazines are divided into two categories: current and circulating magazines. Circulating magazines may be checked out, while current magazines can only be used in while in the library.

- Maximum of 3 magazines per patron
Media such as DVDs can be checked out and used outside of the library.

Fees and Fines
If you return an item late, a fee is applied for each day that item is late. To avoid fees, turn in your materials on time or request renewals.
