About Program Maps College Catalog

This program can be completed in 2 years, or 4 semesters (fall/spring). Students can decrease their semester course load by taking some required classes during the winter and summer terms instead. Some courses are only offered in the spring or fall terms.

Program completion within this time frame is dependent upon math placement, the number of units enrolled per term, and course availability. Full-time students are recommended to take 12-15 units per term. Meet with a counselor to develop your Student Educational Plan (SEP), determine the appropriate general education pattern, and maintain a work/life/school balance.

Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • Apply the basic tenets of psychology to the study of more in-depth topics in upper division courses
  • Distinguish between the main theoretical perspectives in psychology
  • Analyze the primary subfields of psychology and gauge their contributions to the understanding of behavior, cognition, and emotion
