Moreno Valley College is advancing its approach to environmental stewardship by welcoming a new team of nocturnal specialists: barn owls. This innovative initiative marks a shift in the college’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy.

Sabrina Lopez’s return to college began as a practical decision but quickly became a journey of self-discovery. After years working as a traveling oral surgery assistant across Southern California, the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to reassess her life.

Moreno Valley College has selected Daniell Study as its new dean of institutional effectiveness. Study joined the College in 2019 as an institutional research specialist and has led major initiatives to strengthen program review, accreditation processes, and equity-focused assessment.

The Center for Social Justice & Civil Liberties has been awarded a $175,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation to support Beyond Museum Walls: Collections, Community, and Engagement at The Center for Social Justice & Civil Liberties.

A $150,000 grant awarded for the 2026–27 academic year will provide additional scholarship and emergency financial aid support to students working toward degree completion, certificate attainment, or transfer to a four-year institution.

The 13th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Celebration brought together students, educators, and community members to reflect on the responsibility of building a more just and equitable society through intentional action, centered on the theme “Blueprint for Change."
