Noemi Hernandez Alexander Named Dean of Instruction for Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences

Noemi Hernandez Alexander, Ph.D., has been named dean of instruction for languages, humanities and social sciences at Moreno Valley College. She brings more than 20 years of experience in education across K–12, community college, and university settings.

A scholar-practitioner and seasoned administrator, Hernandez Alexander has served as interim dean of student services at Riverside City College and as a professor of political science and public administration at California Baptist University. Her leadership roles there included department chair and director of online education, where she led faculty teams in delivering accessible bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.

Hernandez Alexander also serves as an elected trustee on the Riverside Unified School District Board of Education, collaborating with district leadership and community stakeholders to strengthen teaching and learning, expand college and career pathways, and support innovative and engaging educational experiences.

Raised in Riverside County and a graduate of public schools, Hernandez Alexander is a first-generation college graduate. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Ph.D. in political science from Claremont Graduate University.

Hernandez Alexander shares Moreno Valley College’s student-centered mission of empowerment, equity, and service and is committed to ensuring students have the resources and support needed to succeed.
