Moreno Valley College Hosts Educational Leaders Panel for Leadership Academy
Moreno Valley College hosted an insightful Educational Leaders Panel on Dec. 19, as part of the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Academy. The panel featured prominent local educational leaders, including:
- Alejandro Ruvalcaba, Ph.D., Superintendent of Moreno Valley Unified School District
- Gordon Amerson, Ed.D., Superintendent of Val Verde Unified School District
- Edwin Gomez, Ed.D., Riverside County Superintendent of Schools
- FeRita Carter, Ph.D., Interim President of Moreno Valley College
The discussion centered on fostering collaboration among educational institutions, addressing challenges with equity in education, and preparing students for success in an ever-evolving workforce. Panelists emphasized the importance of building strong community partnerships and using innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience for all students.
“This panel provided valuable perspectives on how our community can work together to create equitable and effective education opportunities,” said FeRita Carter, interim president of Moreno Valley College. “By engaging in dialogue and sharing our collective insights, we can better support the future of education in our region.”
The event was part of the Leadership Academy, a year-long interactive program to develop community-minded business and civic leaders. Established in 1996 by the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Academy gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at the city’s economic growth and quality of life, fosters leadership skills, and encourages engagement in local and regional affairs.
