About

Tanya Brown loves helping students discover how to lead healthier, more active lives. Her goal is to make fitness and wellness fun! Movement is medicine, and Professor Brown enjoys showing students how small changes can make a big impact on both physical and mental health.

Brown started at Fontana Middle School in the late 1990s where she taught physical education, coached the boys’ basketball team, and founded an intramurals program.

After 8 years, she joined Moreno Valley College as a part-time faculty member. Since becoming full-time in 2016, Brown has had the privilege of sharing her passion for kinesiology and health through teaching, advising for student clubs, and the creation of new academic programs.

When Professor Brown is not in the classroom or the gym, she travels, attends concerts, chases sunsets, and spends quality time with family, including her three kids.
