About

Ezikio Celia López (they/them) is a first-generation Latinx scholar-teacher from the Inland Empire. They started their own educational journey right here at Moreno Valley Community College and earned their associate degrees from MVC after being recruited into the Puente Program. It was in their Puente MVC community that everything clicked for them and led them to pursue teaching at the campus where it all began. López is completing their doctoral dissertation at Syracuse University, where their research centers on trans rhetorics, trans archives, and trans-inclusive pedagogy. Their teaching practices and work are driven by a deep commitment to creating classrooms where students who have been historically underrepresented feel seen, valued, and heard. When they’re not teaching or researching, Ezikio can be found cheering on their favorite WNBA teams or spending quality time with their two cats/teaching assistants, Kahlo and Kirby.
