National Student Employment Week is April 14-18, 2025

Each year, the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) declares the second full week of April to be a celebration week of Student Employees. This week of recognition was established to recognize the student work experience, as well as the invaluable contributions and key role student employees play in the success of campus operations. At MVC, we encourage supervisors, MVC team members, and fellow students to thank and celebrate student employees.

Ways to Celebrate and Appreciate

  • Say Thank You!
  • Treat Week – goodie bags, snacks, or an appreciation potluck
  • Fun Day – play games, create fun awards, small gifts or a personalized thank you note
  • Decorate the work space
  • Recognize your student employees in your department newsletter, website, or staff meeting
  • Whatever it may be, get creative!

Student Employee Spotlights

Some of our department supervisors would like to spotlight a few of their student employees for the 2024-2025 academic year. These students have shown growth and initiative in their respective roles, provided excellent customer service, and have added value to their departments.

Over the past two years, Justin has served as an ASC tutor, providing exceptional academic support to students across a diverse range of subjects. Justin consistently demonstrates an impressive aptitude for quickly mastering new tasks, coupled with strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal communication abilities. His attention to detail in all aspects of his work is exemplary, and he approaches even the most challenging students with a positive attitude. Through his patient and empathetic approach, Justin is able to effectively help students grasp complex concepts and gain a deeper understanding of the material they are studying. Justin is an outstanding individual—kind, honest, and driven by an impeccable work ethic and exceptional manners. In the fall, he will be attending Loma Linda University to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and I have no doubt that he will continue to excel in all his future endeavors.

Lily is the best! She's the driving force behind our Instagram page, our new informational designs, and inspiring all things creative for our department. She's been a joy to work with and although she'll be leaving us to attend Cal Baptist University in the Fall, we're so happy for her next educational journey.

Aaliyah Alatorre and Darius Johnson
Student Clerks, Student Financial Services

Both Aliyah and Darius have been an amazing addition to the Student Financial Services team. They assist our department by helping students complete the financial aid application during Cash for College workshops and at our front counter. Most importantly they assist us at various events on campus by tabling and showcasing the various financial aid opportunities we have to offer by having that Peer-to-Peer communication with their fellow students and the Moreno Valley community.
