On September 17, 1787, the US Constitution was signed by the members of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The US Constitution serves as the supreme law of the United States of America and is the framework for the United States government. Its first three words “We the People” affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens.
