MVC Educators Earn Gold-Level Industry 4.0 Certifications

Faculty and apprenticeship leaders at Moreno Valley College have earned Gold-level certifications from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA), a nationally recognized credential in industrial automation technology. The achievement reinforces the college’s commitment to preparing students for careers in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and mechatronics.
Jennifer Palomares, associate faculty in manufacturing technology, and Rosalinda Rivas, Apprenticeship Director and leader of MVC’s apprenticeship programs, completed the rigorous SACA training and practical assessments. They were joined by Rodolfo “Rudy” Alvarez, associate faculty in manufacturing technology at Norco College, who also earned Gold-level certification. Together, they strengthen the regional network of instructors who provide industry-aligned training and mentorship to students.
Gold-level certification requires mastery of troubleshooting, automation, systems integration, and other Industry 4.0 skills on approved industrial equipment. It ensures instructors have verified expertise that translates directly into effective, hands-on learning for students.
"Earning the SACA Gold Certification gave me a deeper understanding of the skills our students need for Industry 4.0 careers," said Rosalinda Rivas, Apprenticeship Director. "Working alongside our faculty during the training helped me identify effective tools and approaches our instructors can use, ensuring students gain the practical experience that prepares them for advanced manufacturing, robotics, and automation careers."
The training was delivered in partnership with Klein Educational Services, with instructors Maroun Nehme and Joe Ray providing direct, applied instruction and guidance. This collaboration helps MVC ensure programs stay aligned with industry standards while offering students hands-on opportunities in high-demand technical fields.
MVC continues to grow its offerings in mechatronics, robotics, industrial maintenance, and related disciplines. As more faculty earn credentials like SACA Gold, MVC reinforces its role as a leading provider of skilled talent for the Inland Empire’s growing automation and advanced manufacturing workforce.
