Moreno Valley College Recognized as ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting
Moreno Valley College has been recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge organization for its efforts to increase student voter engagement. The College, along with 393 other colleges and universities, earned recognition as an ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting. The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge is a national awards program for higher education institutions recognizing an institution’s commitment to increasing student voting rates.
Moreno Valley College was one of 24 institutions in California, and one of seven community colleges, to be honored as a Most Engaged Campus. The organization recognized colleges and universities for making intentional efforts to increase student voter participation. According to ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, “college student voter turnout has increased since 2016, and this increase has been driven by students,” Jennifer Domagal-Goldman, executive director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, said.
Prior to the 2022 midterms, Moreno Valley College held a voter registration drive encouraging students to register to vote. Colleges that join the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge completed a set of action items to institutionalize nonpartisan civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation on their campus. Campuses with student voting rates of 50 percent and above were recognized.
