Scholarship Winners Announced

On behalf of Moreno Valley College's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Committee, we are pleased to announce the winners for the fourth annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship speech and essay contests. This year's theme was Answering the Knock at Midnight: Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. There were two rounds of judging for each competition. Faculty members from Moreno Valley College made the final selection of winners for both competitions.

In honor of Dr. King's legacy as a change agent of social justice and as a leader who consistently answered the "knock at midnight," MVC is committed to being responsive to the educational needs of the region. The MLK Scholarship Breakfast will help MVC to provide scholarships for students from this community to continue their educational pursuits.

The students will be honored at the fourth annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast and Community Summit on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 7 to 8:30 am, followed by the Community Summit from 8:30 to 11:30 am at Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center, where they will be presented with their $500 award. Students will receive complimentary tickets for themselves and two guests. Any additional guests who are interested in attending the breakfast will be able to purchase a ticket for $25 each.
