Foster Hired as Vice President of Student Services at MVC
The Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Dyrell Foster as Moreno Valley College's vice president of Student Services. Foster comes from Rio Hondo College in Whittier.
As Rio Hondo College's dean of Student Affairs, Foster, who holds a doctorate in higher education administration from USC, oversaw nine departments, including financial aid, veterans services, student health and CalWorks. He began his career at Evergreen College as the director of Student Life, moving to Southern California in 2004 after accepting a position at Mt. San Antonio College. Foster worked in student services at Mt. SAC for seven years before accepting the position at Rio Hondo in September of 2011.
Foster has worked in the classroom as well as in administration arena. After earning his master's degree from Cal State Long Beach, he taught at Mt. San Antonio, Cal State Fullerton and at Long Beach State. At UC Davis, where he earned his bachelor's degree in applied behavioral science, he was a member of the Aggies football team.
