2024 Theme: Raise Your Voice, Change the World
Art has the power to capture the public’s attention, provoke thought, and inspire action. It is a medium through which voices can be amplified, messages can be shared, and the world can be changed.
Prompt
Student artists from all backgrounds and of all skill levels are invited to create visual and creative artworks that explore and expand on this year’s theme in innovative ways. Submissions might address, but are not limited by, the following:

Art that highlights social justice issues, addresses systemic inequalities, and promotes activism.

Art that pays homage to individuals who speak up against injustices and prompt change.

Creative works that showcase how art itself can be a form of activism, from street art and protest signs to performance art and digital activism.

Voice-based works that issue a call to action in service of contemporary social issues such as racial equality, gender rights, environmental justice, or civic engagement.
Artwork Guidelines
Students will be asked to submit a brief artist statement that explains how your work addresses the theme of "Raise Your Voice, Change the World."
- Accepted media: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital art, poem/spoken word, and video
- Three-dimensional submissions may be no larger than 36” wide x 36” high x 36” deep
- Written submissions must be 250–500 words
- Recorded submissions may be a maximum of 3 minutes long
- Submitted Artwork must be fully original
Students that choose to submit written submissions, such as poems or spoken word, may be asked to perform or recite an excerpt from their piece at the Scholarship Breakfast.
