Moreno Valley College Choirs

Moreno Valley College's Gospel and Chamber Singers will host Wheaton College's Gospel Choir as part of an exchange program on Thursday, March 13. The two choirs will join voices at 5:30 pm in a free concert and clinic, which will be held in the Student Services Building, Room 101. The event is open to the community.
"Choir exchanges are common among progressive groups," said Kelli Dower, director of the MVC choirs. "The singing experience lends itself to camaraderie and mutual respect for all performers, regardless of their singing level. We use the exchange program to not only recruit high school singers, but to expose our current students to an in-depth experience with singers from other institutions."
Wheaton College, which is located 25 miles west of Chicago, was established in 1860 as a private Liberal Arts college. The stop in Moreno Valley is part of the group's 10-day visit to Southern California.
"This exchange is the first between Wheaton College and MVC, but the chamber singers have participated in such exchanges every year," Dower said. "In April, we'll be doing a similar event with Cal State San Bernardino as part of the university's Celebration of the Arts Festival."
